Pleased that necessary upgrades are being completed for the Lorette community: MLA Bob Lagassé

Lorette, MB – MLA Bob Lagassé, alongside Premier Heather Stefanson, is pleased to announce over $8 million in partnership with the federal and local government of the RM of Taché to build a new community centre.  Our government is pleased to provide funding for the new centre, which will include a new arena and a library totaling over 70,000 square feet of space.

“Today’s announcement is another example of the great things we can accomplish when we work together. Since becoming premier, the Manitoba government has been keen to collaborate with all levels of government to advance key infrastructure projects that will improve Manitobans’ quality of life and support the growth of our communities and economy. We are pleased to see the new Taché Community Centre project move forward that will benefit the local community for years to come,” said Premier Stefanson.

I’m thrilled that this project is going ahead for the community of Lorette,” said MLA Lagassé. “These upgrades have been long overdue and will give residents of the area a place they can be proud of, as well as a centre to come together as a community.  The new Taché Community Centre will be a space for residents to enjoy for years to come!”

The Government of Canada is investing up to $4.4 million in this project from the Community, Culture, and Recreation Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, while the Manitoba government is contributing more than $3.6 million. The Rural Municipality of Taché is additionally providing more than $2.9 million towards eligible costs of this project.
